temperatures are still between 5 and 10 degrees and where we should be. i will break down your afternoon high, my next report. >> in the midst of what has already been a slow ride on 580 westbound through the alta mott there has been a report of a stalled a big rig that is blocking the right-hand lane. this is adding more the delays. this may become a hot spot. >> a second a bart strike is looming as union contracts are set to expire on sunday night. union workers back to the picket line, leaving hundreds of people stranded. kron fours mike pelton is live at west oakland where negotiations are set to resume today. >> today is a big day in the

negotiations because the union may issue a 72 hour strike. that will allow the impossibility to walk off the job on monday morning curry at today's negotiations are expected to resume at noon today. they stated that no progress was made and although they reached an agreement on several issues, you can see part of the labor unions are leaving late last night. one of the biggest issues is the pay increases. bart is offering a 8% increase. bart and the union are still at odds on health-care and pension. both sides do not even agree on what these proposals adulate mean for workers. they have agreed to meet every day. >> until we make progress,

both the safety and the proposals that the union has which the district has had no response. the economic proposals we unfortunately do not have very good news to report. >> there are very structural changes that need to be made in terms of pension and health-care costs. those need to be made an order for us to continue to run another four years. if >> that was just four days to go to a potential bart strike is in place. we know that both bart and one of the largest labor unions are born to have several press conferences later. union workers are born to rally today at 5:00 p.m.. >> transit officials admit that it is impossible for any transit agency to take on the 400- thousand people who ride bart each weekday.
